Meet Mr. Molly
Mr. Molly's story is a sad story but an all too frequent one. Molly was originally taken in from a raid of a home that had very unclean conditions. Molly chewed his feathers , his beak was rotted off, and was almost dead by the time he was pulled from the home. The officer that was involved with the raid took Molly in after vetting , she helped him along in his health and well being. Molly was wrapped around a bell that he still has to this day.
The original woman that took him in is a officer , she also hosted church events at her home. Mr. Molly was a very active member of the church until he started vocalizing at the top of his lungs in profanities. The congregation did not appreciate it , so he was rehomed to another woman.
Mr. Molly was placed into a home with an Umbrella Cockatoo, a Moluccan Cockatoo, a Quaker, and cockatiels. He was very bird aggressive, and attacked the Moluccan in the home, scared many people, and was eventually needing to find a new home. The woman who had him was unable to sell Molly so he was ultimately surrendered to Jen with The Bird Nerds Rescue due to my abilities with the Blue and Gold Macaw species he was brought here.
Mr. Molly is very loud, he is a screamer and is very bird jealous. Mr. Molly is also very territorial over his cage, and will lunge through the cage bars at anyone passing by. He will lunge at cats, dogs, children, men and women.
Mr. Molly's favorite toys are books, his bell (which he MUST have), and anything shreddable. He will need an owner that is willing to work through his screaming, and be capable of living with him. Molly will never be fully feathered and his beak will eventually grow in normally. His beak only has the tip that still shows the rot. He is much healthier now also, being switched over to a fresh diet, and being treated for yeast in his stool with Apple Cider Vinegar.
Mr. Molly is a character , hyper active (like all Blue and Gold Macaws), dances, sings, and is very talkative. He does have some strange behaviors we are trying to work through also. We are also working on his bathing , which he dislikes.
